I run Toad’s Caravan which began as a creative collective for filmmakers and animators in 2010. Toad’s Caravan now operates as an umbrella brand for the coworking space I run in the Southside of Glasgow with my husband, Ben Whitney. We were previously based in Ruthven Lane in the west end of Glasgow. TC is the name under which I create any creative animation & film content. It’s also home to All The Young Nudes Life Drawing Club, which started in 2008 as a side project – something to do outside of work at The Glasgow School of Art where I worked at The Digital Design Studio (now the School of Simulation and Visualisation) as Digital Media Specialist. In this role, invented for me, I was a 3D modeller, editor, producer and animator plus I worked on some incredible 3D laser scanning projects: Stirling Castle, Rosslyn Chapel and coordinated the Mount Rushmore scanning trip.
I wear many hats but mostly love to play art director. Currently, the favourite hat has to be house builder! (bantaskinstreetbarn.com) The deigned and are building the house ourselves in Maryhill.
All The Young Nudes has always surprised me with it’s popularity and success. Taking it online has been an eye-opener – in the best way. I’m looking forward to discussing this move with you all and hope we can get into a conversation about options and possibilities for the future of creative businesses online.
