Aqsa Arif is the founder and arts administrator of SaltSpace Co-operative, a creative platform which aims to support art students, new graduates and emerging artists based in Scotland as a stepping-stone into their professional career. Since setting up in 2019, SaltSpace has supported and provided creative opportunities to over 150 members, with residencies, studio space, workshops, gallery exhibitions, film screenings, professional development and more. An emerging artist herself, she understands the need for meaningful opportunities for early-career artists. She is a multi-media artist, graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 2019, where she received a First-Class degree in Painting and Printmaking. Her recent exhibitions include RSA New Contemporaries 2020 and ‘Come Together’ at Tate Modern, London.
