Peter Mackie Burns is an award- winning director whose films have screened at over two hundred festivals including Berlin, Venice, Telluride, Busan and SXSW.
MILK, starring Oscar winner Brenda Fricker, won many awards around the world including the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin Film Festival in 2005.
DAPHNE, Peter’s debut fiction feature, premiered at Rotterdam in Jan 2017 and played at SXSW. The film starring Emily Beecham won Best Screenplay Award at the Valetta International Film Festival and also Best Female Performance in a British film at EIFF and Torino IFF and was released in September 2017 by Altitude Films.
RIALTO, Peter’s second feature starring Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Tom Glynn-Carney and Monica Dolan premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, in the Orrizonti Competition in September 2019. It will be released UK and US in October 2020.
